Genes affect our health in complex ways. But unlike the unfulfilled early promises in the early ‘00s that came with the decoding of the human genome, we know now that it takes a wide assortment of advanced molecular tools to accurately diagnose genetic based diseases. Krzysztof Piekarsk’s pick for September 2022 has aggregated all the tools needed to fight some of the most pervasive and deadly forms of cancer. Few companies compare with its commercial platform and its upcoming assortment of molecular tests. All the while the market has given up on the life-sciences revolution when in truth it’s only getting started. Krzysztof thinks the probabilities of success from these historically low prices are very high.

I’m Krzysztof Piekarski, lead advisor for 7nvesting and this month I’ve been doing a little reading and in the book, The Codebreaker: Jennifer Doudna, gene editing in the future of the human race, I came across this passage. Feng Zhang was a Harvard at the same time as Mark Zuckerberg.

It’s interesting to speculate on which of them will end up having the most impact on the world. It’s a proxy for the larger question which future historians will answer of whether the digital revolution, or the life science revolution will end up being the more important, my bet is on the life science revolution.

And what’s fascinating is that the market right now has thrown away pretty much every biotech and biohealth company as though they were all the same. They’re not the same. And given that the life science revolution, which is working on expanding human healthspan, and lifespan is just getting started. It’s just putting together all the magnificent technologies we’ve been developing over the last 50 years, and especially in the last 20 years, since the decoding of the human genome. As all these pieces are coming together, we’re finally feeling the fruits of all those labors in a real way.

And so the company that I’m recommending for September 2022,  its business is keeping you alive longer. And the best part, it has never been cheaper. Historically, its PS ratio right now is in the gutter along with all kinds of other companies that probably aren’t going to make it but this one will. So find out what my pick is on September 1.
